If any of these sound like you

Don't wait for it to get worse. These are all reasons to call today.

Not sure it's an emergency? Ring anyway. Reception will ask a few questions and tell you honestly whether you need to come in today.

  • Toothache that won't settle

Especially if it's keeping you up at night or painkillers have stopped working. Pain that bad usually has a cause we can treat the same day.

  • Swelling, abscess or a bad taste

A swollen face, gum or jaw needs seeing promptly. If swelling affects your breathing or swallowing, go to A&E first.

  • Broken, chipped or cracked tooth

Keep any pieces, rinse gently with warm water, and avoid chewing on that side until we've looked at it.

  • Lost filling or crown

Often not painful, but the tooth underneath is exposed. Bring the crown with you — we can sometimes re-fit it.

  • Knocked-out or loosened tooth

Time matters. Hold it by the crown, not the root, keep it in milk, and call us straight away.

  • Bleeding gums or an injury

Bleeding that doesn't stop with gentle pressure, or any knock to the mouth that's left a tooth feeling different.

What happens when you call

Three steps, and you're out of pain.

  1. You call. We give you a time today.

Reception asks what's happening and how long it's been going on, tells you the fee, and books you in. If you're very nervous, say so — it changes how we plan your visit.

  2. We find the cause and we treat it.

A 30–45 minutes appointment: examination, X-rays if they're needed, and the treatment that stops the pain — an extraction, a filling, or dressing the tooth. Not a look and a prescription. Everything is explained before it happens, and you can stop us at any time.

  3. You leave with a written plan — and the cost.

If the tooth needs more work later, you'll get the options and the price in writing before anything else is booked. No surprises, no pressure.

Pain-free*, even in an emergency

The reason nervous patients come here when it hurts.

David and Rashmi are Certified Pain Free Dentists. It isn't a slogan — it's a set of techniques used on every patient, every visit, and measured afterwards: 98.6% of 168 patients surveyed told us their treatment was pain-free.

Computerised injections

Anaesthetic delivered slowly and precisely — most people don't feel it go in.

Warmed anaesthetic

Body-temperature, so there's no sting.

Waterlase laser

A gentler, quieter alternative for many treatments.

Sedation if you need it

For the truly phobic — awake, relaxed, and remembering very little.

“I was in agony with the tooth. I rang around to see if I could find a dental surgery that understood my fears … I was immediately put at ease on the phone … I was in no pain and truly it was amazing, no needles.”

What it costs

£245, and the treatment is in it.

Cost is the question most people have and the one they're least likely to ask when they're in pain. So it's here — and so is the part most practices leave you to find out on the day.

Emergency appointment £245 The treatment is included, not extra

30–45 minutes with a dentist: the examination, X-rays if they're needed, and the treatment that stops the pain — an extraction, a filling, or dressing the tooth, whichever the problem turns out to need.

You leave out of pain. Not with a prescription and an appointment for next week.

If it needs more than one visit Quoted in writing first

Some things cannot be finished in a single appointment — a root canal is a course of treatment, a crown has to be made. We still get you out of pain on the day; the rest is quoted on paper before anything else is booked.

A deposit secures that booking and is refunded with 48 hours' notice.

Every fee we charge is on our pricing guide.

Before you call

Questions people ask when they're in pain.

I'm not a patient here. Can I still come in?

Yes. Emergency appointments are open to new patients — most of the people on this page were new when they first rang us.

Will you actually see me today?

If you call while we're open, we'll give you a time the same day. Ring first thing for the widest choice of times.

I'm terrified of the dentist. What then?

Tell reception when you call. We'll plan the visit around it — slower, more explanation, breaks whenever you want them, and sedation if you need it.

What if I need a root canal or extraction?

If the tooth has to come out, that is usually done there and then and it is part of the £245 — you will not be sent away to book it. A root canal is a course of treatment rather than one appointment, so we take the pain away on the day and give you the options and the cost in writing for finishing it.

What should I do while I wait?

Over-the-counter painkillers as directed, warm salt-water rinses, and avoid very hot, cold or sweet things. Don't put painkillers on the gum — it burns.

It's out of hours. What do I do?

Call NHS 111 for urgent out-of-hours advice. If there's facial swelling affecting breathing or swallowing, or uncontrolled bleeding, go to A&E. Then ring us when we open.

New to the practice and not in pain? Book a first visit instead.
